Deep Waters

Brand New Album - release date April 17th 2024

This new collection of original songs were written during a period of self reflection, family losses and shifts. I wanted to write something that spoke of the deep private work that many of us have to do in mid life.

It is undoubtedly an album for grown-ups with a nod to, among other influences, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac and Guy Clark.

Joining myself and Naadia to create the arrangements are Dave Manington on bass, Sophie Alloway on drums and Keith Warmington on harmonica with lush strings by Clare Lindley and Brian Mullen.

Recorded at Fish Factory July 2023. Engineered by Benedic Lamdin. Mixed and Mastered by Ant Whiting.

The Times

A unique album of ten original songs created entirely acapella.

These tracks concentrate on the voice and expressing what’s in our soul.

Inspired by a myriad of sounds from London to the forests of Canada, the streets of New York and Bristol, Dimbleby invites you to connect and explore the voices we keep locked up inside.

Beware of Young Girls : The songs of Dory Previn

A collaboration with Naadia Sheriff ("Dazzling pianist” The Times) exploring the extraordinary songbook of cult favourite Dory Previn, the queen of 70's confessional songwriters.

Album recorded at Porcupine Studios - released by Proper Distribution 2010 “Top Ten Sunday Times Jazz Albums”

In 2010, Kate performed Dory Previn’s most famous song “Lady with the Braid” every night for five weeks as part of her live show at the New End Theatre in Hampstead. The song and Kate’s version of it got such a reaction that she decided to explore Previn’s work further.

“Beware of Young Girls” is the result. A unique collaboration between Kate and pianist Naadia Sheriff. Dory’s songs explore themes of sexuality, therapy and religion with humour and raw honesty. To this Kate and Naadia bring their own musicianship, experience and personality.

Just Show Up : Podcast/Livestream

During the pandemic, I started a podcast ‘Live from My Woodshed’ about about making it up as you go along, creativity and the importance of getting out of your comfort zone.

Included in the mostly improvised episodes are some lovely visits from guests writer Cathy Rentzenbrink, singer Roxana Vilk, and BBC radio host/harmonica player Keith Warmington.
