Kate Dimbleby and Keith Warmington 17th Sept

Bath Chapel Arts
17th September 2017
8pm

Brand new musical pairing of acclaimed singer-songwriter Kate Dimbleby and much loved Keith Warmington on harmonica/guitar and vocals. Songs about life, loss and a lot of laughter born out of friendship and finding common ground. This is a show that will make you laugh, cry and have you humming out the door.

“Despite covering songs written and/or sung by legends – Bonnie Raitt, Kirsty MacColl, John Mayall, Leonard Cohen, Etta James, Richard Thompson – I’ve never heard most of them before but love the richness and diversity of this collection. Dimbleby most certainly has a penchant for the quirky and her rendition of Ruth Brown’s peculiar ‘If I can’t Sell It, I’ll Sit On It’ will later have me busily spotifying this new to me 1950s R&B soulstress and, most probably, tweeting Craig Charles about her.…

FINDING YOUR VOICE : A WOMAN’S WORK at Port Eliot Festival 29th August

I am very excited to announce that I will be doing a bespoke session for Port Eliot Festival on Saturday 29th August. I would love any other female artists out there to join me.. for song and discussion.

THIS IS PART OF MY NEXT STAGE FOR SONGBIRDS – taking the project into smaller communities, village halls, churches to hear your voices and sing with you. Here is a map of where I am headed in 2017-2018. If you would like your community added to the map, just email kate@katedimbleby.com

FINDING YOUR VOICE : A WOMAN’S WORK

In this unique session for Port Eliot, Kate, alone on stage with a vocal looper, combines powerful, soulful acapella original songs with stories of singing with Bobby McFerrin, stepping out of Peggy Lee’s shadow and listening to find the song in everyone.…

REVIEWS : WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ABOUT “SONGBIRDS”

Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music, Sat 4 Feb 2017:
“When we’re choosing the tapes, the only thing that counts is what comes out of the speakers. And what came out of the speakers with this next track completely blew me away. This is an artist called Kate Dimbleby – the track is Musical Boxes…
“It’s been a very good week for the BBC Introducing Mixtape. And that one is a stunner.
“She studied with Bobby McFerrin in New York and, you know, she’s put in the time. Those 10,000 hours have been applied to honing that craft. And that is a woman, an artist absolutely at. the. top. of. her. game.”…
